Aliases: Kosmic K-way, Kosmic Kris, Kael Carson.

Age: 30 (ACK!)

Gender: Female

About me: I'm driven, creative, complex, intense, geeky and slightly bizarre. I'm a bibliophile, a creator of worlds (ie, writer), a film geek, a drama nerd, and a serious academian. I'm a graduate of Hollins University (which makes me a huge proponent of single-sex education) with a BA in English and Arizona State University with a Master's in Secondary Education. I allegedly teach high school English and SAT prep, though most days it just feels like wrangling cats. I'm also a novelist and a screenwriter.

I'm bi-polar and that is (rationally) discussed in this journal-- some material may be upsetting, disturbing, or trigger-y, though these entries are placed under cuts to protect those who don't want to read it. I'm opinionated and occasionally hot-headed, especially on issues regarding education and the social values and mores in our country. If my views on life, the universe, and everything make you uncomfortable, don't flame, just exit stage left.

Other Interests: Writing (screenplays and novels), watching good movies and TV, reading everything I can get my hands on, yoga, dancing, teaching.

Writing History--Fan Fic: I've been writing prose and poetry since I was in the 4th grade. I really started getting serious about my creative writing when I was 13. My first fanfic was a fic for "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."

Boldly Trekking: I started writing fic for "Star Trek Voyager" in 1996. My 'ships are primarily J/C and J/P, though I've been known to delve into others.

Profile This: I got started on Profiler during the show's last season in 1999. To date, I've written 75+ Profiler fics of various lengths and encompassing various ships. I'm currently working on complete episode guides for the series with trivia, facts, notable moments, quotations, and unanswered questions. I try to write in the voices of all of the team members but I specialize in Bailey and Grace.

Other Fandoms and Ships: I LURVE to write for "The West Wing" (CJ/Toby, CJ/Danny, CJ/Toby/Danny). I'm an ENORMOUS CSI fan, writing GSR, Yo/Bling, Grillows, Brillows, and just about anything else that tickles my fancy. I also dabble in "Bones"; "Nip/Tuck"; and "Criminal Minds."

Novels: My current project is a YA novel called "Playing on the Mood Swings," an exploration of bipolar disorder from the POV of a young woman who's been hospitalized after a suicide attempt. If you'd like to beta read, please let me know and I'll place you on the manuscript filter. Please understand that I only accept readers who can offer constructive criticism of this work-- if I just needed cheerleaders, I'd create my own.

Screenwriting: I'm currently developing Patricia Cornwell's "The Body Farm" into the pilot for a TV series called "Cadaver." On hold is another pilot based on Cornwell's "All that Remains." Past work includes Kate Chopin's "The Awakening"; the film "Tidewater Christmas"; and a documentary tribute to fellow filmmaker Nicole Kohn.
